A separate dwelling from the main house, this humble cottage-cum-musical sanctuary can be found by following a winding path from the backyard through the rainforest. Nestled within a magical jungle setting, this space is equipped with all that is necessary for creating, composing, recording and listening. Filled with instruments of all kinds - traditional, old, new, borrowed, found, broken and mended. There are no genre boundaries here, and no musical education needed - all that is necessary is an understanding of the importance of music in life and a passion for creating sounds, rhythms and beats that satisfies the soul.
Currently listening to over and over and over again:

Eddie Vedder’s Into To Wild soundtrack. Incredibly beautiful. Who doesn’t love Eddie Vedder’s mastery. And Songs For Tibet, full of great musicians, plus a video teaching from the Dalai Lama, love it!
I am playing on the piano over and over and over again:

Yann Tiersen’s Comptine D’un Autre Été: L’après Midi from the Amelie soundtrack. It was Ali who reminded me how much I love this song by posting about it here.

And as always, relentlessly, for the last 15 years, anything from Michael Nyman’s score from The Piano. My favourite to play is Big My Secret.
I am currently composing this song:
And am currently working in the sound studio with:
French guitarist Romain Bigeard:

Check out his myspace page for a listen and to see how the songs were made.

The into the wild soundtrack has been in my car for 6 months now(possibly more) it is beautiful-too short but somehow still perfect. On many occasions I have posted on my blogs “la valse” d’amelie……there is no other music that moves as much as this piece it has been my breath when I could not breathe on my own!
