A separate dwelling from the main house, this humble cottage-cum-musical sanctuary can be found by following a winding path from the backyard through the rainforest. Nestled within a magical jungle setting, this space is equipped with all that is necessary for creating, composing, recording and listening. Filled with instruments of all kinds - traditional, old, new, borrowed, found, broken and mended. There are no genre boundaries here, and no musical education needed - all that is necessary is an understanding of the importance of music in life and a passion for creating sounds, rhythms and beats that satisfies the soul.

Eddie Vedder’s Into To Wild soundtrack. Incredibly beautiful. Who doesn’t love Eddie Vedder’s mastery. And Songs For Tibet, full of great musicians, plus a video teaching from the Dalai Lama, love it!

I am playing on the piano over and over and over again:

Yann Tiersen’s Comptine D’un Autre Été: L’après Midi from the Amelie soundtrack. It was Ali who reminded me how much I love this song by posting about it here.

And as always, relentlessly, for the last 15 years, anything from Michael Nyman’s score from The Piano. My favourite to play is Big My Secret.
