This morning I woke up to find this magical creation in my inbox,  created by the ever-inspiring Nathalie Lete. With it she wrote…

je vous envoie mon petit magicien pour faire de 2011 une année (du lapin) magique!!
(i send you my little magician to make  you a magic year(of the rabbit)! !)

Love it. Thank you for being such an inspiration dear Nathalie, here’s hoping for a magical year for everyone.

xx

australian artist: craig waddell…

What Dreams May Come is a current exhibition of works by Australian artist Craig Waddell now on display at gallery 9 in Darlinghust, Sydney.  Craig’s oils on canvas and linen are breathtaking…

…I particularly love the proteas (here). I found Craig’s work via artwhatson: “Waddell’s exhibition at gallery 9 is heavily influenced by his every day life – painting in his studio in the middle of a rose farm at Glenorie, Sydney and working at the flower markets. His luscious paintings depict the beauty, emotion and organic forms of nature and their seductive titles reflect the erotically charged love poems of Chilean writer Pablo Neruda.”

Stunning.

Australian artist Hannah Bertram makes incredible, impermanent art installations with dust. She collects her material on site, then uses it to create these intimate, intricate artworks on various surfaces. Read about her latest project, the silence of becoming and disappearing on her website, and be sure to click on each of the installation links to see her process and creations. The project is also apparently featured in a 3 page article in the current (Sept/Oct) edition of Vogue Living.

beautiful work by erica-lynn huberty…

I recently stumbled across the artwork of Erica-Lynn Huberty whose current series of textiles and embroidery draws on “naturalist imagery, 16th and 17th Century Dutch and Flemish art, and the idea of traditional “women’s work”— the creation of practical and beautiful works with textiles and hand-sewing.”  Love it.

Click here to see more of Erica-Lynn’s work, and here to read more about her. I also found that her home was featured on design*sponge last year, click here to have a sneak peek of her gorgeous and humble home in the hamptons.
