random: about a girl who lived on a houseboat in amsterdam…
Posted in amsterdam, interiors, the houseboat May 11th, 2011 by pia

what: latest issue of Elle Decoration Norge where: from Norway, to Sydney why: it just arrived in my mailbox

If you live in, near, or around Norway, I hope you can get your hands on a copy of the latest issue of Elle Decoration Norge (formally known as Elle Interiør) because there is a story in there that I think you might really like, full of never-before-seen images of my life on the houseboat. The photographs were taken by me and friend & fellow photographer David Finato, with the full page portrait by Riitta Sourander.

Thank you Elle Decoration.

Congratulations Pia…the article looks gorgeous. Do they have distribution anywhere in the States? I would love to find a copy!

Or is anyone in Norway up for a magazine swap?!

For the sake of being nosey (the idea of living on such a boat – or perhaps a narrowboat – is a regular day dream) can we ever see the pictures in Australia?

MissHeliotrope: yes, photos are in My Heart Wanders! That’s why I have been keeping quiet with photos of the boat on the blog – it’s all in the book, and there is nothing quite like seeing them printed big and colourful in such a format, I do hope you can get the book.

Christine C: I’m not sure if they sell in the States – a magazine swap sounds like a great idea! Let’s hope someone from Norway is reading these comments and likes your idea. :)

Hi Lynne! So nice to hear from you, how are you? No more houseboat living, I’m now on land, though I’m not sure it’s any drier! We’ve had so much rain lately. I wrote about how and why and all that, in My Heart Wanders.

Hello Pia! Your lovely houseboat was shown on a finnish television program couple years ago. Your home is the main reason I keep watching that same episode over and over again, it is so inspiring.
