a little gathering at empire vintage…
Posted in my heart wanders, stores April 25th, 2011 by pia

The other day I had one of my whimsical, spur-of-the-moment ideas (for past examples, see here, and here): it occurred to me that a few people in Melbourne may not be able to stop by to say hi & buy a signed copy of the book while I’m styling away at magnolia square on Saturday, April 30th as they will be working during the day. It also occurred to me that after such an event, I will most likely feel like an apéritif, while I wind down and chat with new & old friends.  So I thought it might be a good idea to have a little casual gathering in the late afternoon. I’m delighted to let you know that gathering will be at the very gorgeous empire vintage in albert park, from 4:30pm. There is only room for a few people though – like, ten, tops – so if you are one of those people who will not be able to come along to magnolia square earlier, but still want to meet up & get your hands on a copy of my heart wanders – all the while perusing Lyn’s amazing boutique & sipping something sparkly – then just send me an email.

When: 4:30pm, Saturday, April 30, 2011
Where: Empire Vintage, 63 Cardigan Place, Albert Park
What: apéritif & mingling

If you’d like a little peek inside Lyn’s shop, check out photographer Jillian Leiboff’s beautiful post featuring photos from her recent visit.

I recently spent 4 amazing days in Melbourne and did a fun vintage tour with Lynda Gardner from Empire Vintage.(Highly recommend it!) The next day I went down to St Kilda a bought this Fab book “My heart wanders” and it wasn’t till I read the book and then when onto the blog that I realized that you all had a gathering at Empire just a few day earlier. Funny how like minded people are drawn together. I absolutely loved the book! Soul food for the heart and I think my heart has been trying to tell me so much but I have just not been listening to it. From reading the book I know now in life you must stop! and
listen to your heart. I asked a dear friend many years to help me choose a paint colour for my beach house. I had narrowed down
to 2 but still couldn’t decide until he asked what is your head telling you and then what is your heart telling you and I did go with my heart!

I love your blog! It was one of the first blogs that I loved and I found it searching for information or blogs that talked about Sally Mann. I saw a documentary about her at Sundance a few years ago and have loved her ever since. I love shades of pale pink in everything– in photos, in mood, etc… your site reminds me of that mood-sipping a pale pink drink on a pale pink tinted summer day-thank you for bringing out this experience in me everytime I view your blog!
