baileys, of course!
Posted in homewares, interiors March 24th, 2009 by piablog

I just had to start this special nesting series by taking you straight to baileys newly renovated website, complete with an illustrated layout of the store, information and beautiful photographs of their art cafe, and of course, the book. Which I reviewed way back when. and which I still love flicking through for inspiration. I love Mark and Sally’s rustic yet utterly sophisticated style. It’s recycled living, at it’s best.

I hope to be able to visit their incredible store in Whitecross Farm in the UK one day. If you’ve been, do let me know what it’s like in a comment below!

I love Baileys and had always got their catalogue. I was in Herefordshire for a weekend, a long, much longer than anticipated 6 hour drive from London and I drove past this intriguing place….it was Baileys! But it was late on a Sunday and closed. I thought there is no way I am ever going to be here again unless I buy a helicopter.

Baileys is such a beautiful shop, we try to go there whenever we are in that area (Herefordshire is just that bit too far from Devon for us to visit the shop more often). The barns and other buildings that house the store and cafe have been renovated perfectly and they are in a lovely setting. They display everything so well, you find yourself wanting to buy so many things from teeny tiny cloths pegs to feather dusters (and I don’t even like dusting!) The cafe serves good lunches too and great cakes. It’s great that they now have images of the shop on their website because for a long time I have thought that people would want to go there even more if they saw how lovely it was. Hope you get to visit them one day.

‘Recycled Home’ is one of the best-selling books here in our store in NZ. But, how gorgeous does the store behind the book look!! I would want to take it all home with me.

I have a lot of old produce crates and would love to put them on the wall like that! I’ve seen a few people do that and it just seems so right!
