A Brisbane girl myself, I too recently celebrated my 1 year anniversary in Amsterdam, though unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch to a houseboat (how I wish it did!). So funny to read your posts - I've probably passed you without knowing, trawling the ribbon and button stalls at the Noordermarkt (also a favourite organic market on Saturday mornings), or browsing (and buying from) the shelves of the wonderful Juffrouw Splinter Curiosa, or Riviera Maison, or Iittala, or Kitch Kitchen! I'm sure you've discovered De Weldaad on Reestraat? My all time favourite, more French antique than Dutch, which I'm sure you've plenty of access to in Paris.
