feeling a little fuzzy…
Posted in personal, pia's photos January 26th, 2009 by piablog

Sometime between writing yesterday’s post and having some loempia for afternoon tea at Cafe Koosje, my body gave way to a rather ugly flu. I spent the rest of the afternoon on the couch, sipping a hot totty, barely able to move a muscle without causing extreme agony. Thankfully Alfred was around to fluff my pillows and feed me, and put me to bed.

It’s my birthday and this is not exactly how I imagined celebrating. On a more upbeat note, Happy Australia Day my fellow Aussies!! I hope you’ve had a wonderful day, full of snags and booze.

It is also the start of Chinese New Year today and I just happen to be reading Helen Tse’s beautifully written Sweet Mandarin which I found on my bedside table back in Sydney – sweet synchronicity.

So while I’m tucked up on the couch with a pile of vitamins by my side reading about Helen’s incredible family story, would you guys celebrate my birthday for me? I would be so happy if someone could enjoy this day for me.

xx

Oh dear. You get better soon and while you’re sitting on that couch start imagining where you can go for a Yum Cha birthday celebration. Something cheap and cheerful that everyone can come along to. That’s what I’d be doing. In fact, might just do that anyway. Should have done that instead of the Chinese New Year barbecue I blogged about and then never happened because of family stuff and a 41C day. Poo, why didn’t I think of that. Hmm, wonder where I can get Yum Cha this far out of Sydney. It kinda ends at Chatswood.

Take it easy, feel better and happy birthday!

(Maybe have Alfred make you a super potent fresh veggie broth with lots of onion, garlic and greens – just drink the broth like tea. That’s how I beat the flu!)

Happy Birthday, so sad that you are not feeling well enough to celebrate..just make sure that you have lots of fun when you are feeling better. :-)

Have some home made chicken noodle soup, does the trick for me.

you guys rock!! Thank you for all the sweet birthday wishes, and advice on what to do while I am sick. Anne that chicken noodle soup does sound divine as does the veggie broth alla Afred, thanks for the suggestion Nyla.

I am still super sick, in fact possibly worse – I was on a shoot today, and we had to shoot OUTSIDE in the freezing cold and make it look like spring. Holy shit, I thought I was going to die. By 5pm I was curled up on the couch while everyone cleaned up around me, i felt so terrible.

But the shots look fab and I can’t wait to show you when the magazine issue comes out!

    Sleeping now.
